Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is neurodiversity coaching?
Neurodiversity coaching is a supportive, collaborative process that helps neurodivergent individuals (such as those with ADHD, autism, or AuDHD) understand how their brain works and develop strategies that fit their unique way of thinking, feeling, and functioning.
Rather than trying to “fix” someone, coaching focuses on strengths, self-awareness, and practical tools that turn everyday barriers into bridges.
Who do you work with?
I work with:
Neurodivergent adults (ADHD, Autism, AuDHD)
Teenagers and young people
Parents of neurodivergent children
Schools and educators
Professionals and organisations seeking neurodiversity-informed support
Do I need a formal diagnosis to work with you?
No.
Many clients are self-identified, exploring a possible diagnosis, or simply recognise neurodivergent traits in themselves. Coaching is based on lived experience and individual needs, not just diagnostic labels.
What is the difference between coaching and therapy?
Coaching is forward-focused and practical.
Therapy often explores mental health, trauma, and past experiences in depth.
Coaching with me focuses on:
Understanding your neurodivergent profile
Emotional regulation and rejection sensitivity
Executive functioning
Burnout and masking
Sustainable strategies for daily life
I do not provide therapy or diagnosis.
What happens in a coaching session?
Sessions are a structured but flexible space where we:
Explore real-life challenges
identify patterns
develop personalised, neurodivergent-friendly strategies
build self-understanding and confidence
For younger clients, sessions are shorter and adapted to attention, energy, and communication style.
Do you work online or in person?
I primarily offer online sessions via secure video call.
This allows flexibility for international clients and neurodivergent individuals who feel more comfortable in their own environment.
How long are sessions?
Adults: 60 minutes
Youth: 30 minutes
Parent sessions: 30 minutes (typically after a set number of youth sessions)
Parent consultation/coaching: 60 minutes
How many sessions will I need?
This varies depending on your goals and needs.
Some clients benefit from 10-12 coaching sessions, while others prefer ongoing support as they navigate work, school, identity, or burnout recovery.
There is no “one size fits all” approach.
Do you offer support for masking and rejection sensitivity?
Yes.
This is a core area of my work. Many neurodivergent individuals experience chronic masking, emotional intensity, and rejection sensitivity. Coaching provides a safe space to understand these experiences and develop sustainable coping strategies that do not rely on adrenaline or burnout.
Can you communicate with schools or parents?
Yes, with clear consent and boundaries.
For youth clients, I may offer parent check-ins and general observations that support the young person’s wellbeing while maintaining the confidentiality of the coaching space.
Is coaching confidential?
Yes.
Confidentiality is a key part of the coaching relationship.
For youth clients, information shared in sessions remains private unless there is a safeguarding concern.
Do you work with late-diagnosed adults?
Absolutely.
Many of my clients discover their neurodivergence in their 30s, 40s, or later. Coaching can help with identity integration, unmasking, burnout recovery, and rebuilding self-trust.
What makes your approach different?
My approach is:
Neurodiversity-affirming based in the neurodiversity para
trauma-aware
strengths-based
grounded in both lived experience and professional training
I specialise in the emotional experience of neurodivergence, not just surface-level productivity strategies.
Do you offer talks or training?
Yes.
I provide:
School talks (students, staff, parents)
Corporate neurodiversity training
Workshops on ADHD, autism, masking, and inclusive environments
Speaking engagements and conferences
How do I get started?
You can begin by booking an initial session or enquiry call through the website contact form.
This allows us to explore whether coaching is the right fit for your needs.
Is coaching suitable if I feel overwhelmed or “stuck”?
Yes.
Many clients come to coaching feeling exhausted, confused by systems, or stuck in cycles of burnout and overcompensation. Coaching offers a structured, compassionate space to slow down, understand what is happening, and move forward in a sustainable way.
